About Us

Hi, I’m Candice (Candi) Christensen, M.A., CCC-SLP — the heart behind Blooming Speech and Language!

I’m a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 13 years of combined experience helping children grow in communication and literacy. After earning my master’s degree, I’ve spent the past 7 years working as a school-based SLP, along with 6 years prior, gaining hands-on experience planning and conducting therapy sessions for children under the supervision of an SLP.

Over the years, I’ve supported children with Autism, stuttering, speech sound delays, receptive and expressive language challenges, late talking, and reading disorders. But one area especially close to my heart is literacy.

Reading can feel overwhelming for some children — but it doesn’t have to stay that way. Strong speech and language skills are the roots that help reading bloom. I love helping children strengthen phonological awareness, decoding skills, comprehension, and language foundations so they can grow into confident readers. I’ll be completing specialized coursework in reading intervention in Fall 2026 to continue expanding the targeted, research-based support I provide.

I work with children ages 3–13 and believe therapy should feel encouraging and engaging — a place where kids feel safe to try, stretch, and succeed. Whether we’re practicing speech sounds, building language skills, or unlocking reading confidence, my goal is always the same: to help children believe in themselves.

Every child blooms in their own time — and I’m honored to nurture that growth every step of the way.
